About Our Church
We are an independent Baptist church in Foley, Alabama, and we want you to know exactly what you would be walking into. Our doctrinal statement, our pastors, and our ministries are all on this page.
Meet the Pastor
Dr. Richard WeaverPastor
Pastor Weaver and his wife Brenda have been in full-time ministry more than thirty-five years. Nearly twenty of those were spent on the mission field in Scotland.
He preaches the Bible with conviction. He will sit down with anybody who needs to talk. Brenda works alongside him, mostly with the ladies and the children.
They have been through about everything a church can go through. We are grateful to have them.
Meet the Assistant Pastor
Bro. Caleb WeaverAssistant Pastor · Youth Pastor
Caleb is our assistant pastor and he runs our youth ministry. He went to Pensacola Christian College for Advertising and Public Relations, then went back for a second degree in Missions and Evangelism.
He and his wife Martha have two children.
If you have a question about our teen class or our children's ministries, he is the one to ask.
What We Believe
This is all of it. We believe these things because the Bible teaches them and we preach them from our pulpit.
We believe the Bible to be the revealed Word of God, fully and verbally inspired of God. We believe the Scriptures to be the inerrant, infallible Word of God, as found within the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. We believe God not only inspired every word, but has preserved them through the ages. We believe the King James Version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people.
Psalm 12:6-7 · 2 Timothy 3:15-17 · 1 Peter 1:23-25
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Ghost — equal in power, glory, and eternal being.
1 John 5:7 · Matthew 28:19
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His personal, imminent return.
John 1:1-14 · 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
We believe the Holy Ghost convicts of sin, indwells and seals every believer at the moment of salvation, and empowers the Christian for a holy life and for service.
John 16:8-11 · Ephesians 1:13-14
We believe man was created in the image of God, that he fell by willful sin, and that all men are by nature and by choice sinners under the just condemnation of God.
Genesis 1:27 · Romans 3:23 · Romans 5:12
We believe salvation is by the grace of God alone through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ — not of works, baptism, church membership, or human merit. Repentance and faith are inseparable graces wrought in the soul by God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 · Acts 20:21
We believe all who are truly born again are kept by the power of God and are secure in Christ forever. A saved person may be chastened, but never lost.
John 10:27-29 · Romans 8:38-39
We believe the local church is a self-governing body of baptized believers, independent of any hierarchy, convention, or board, with Christ as its head and pastors and deacons as its only scriptural officers.
Acts 2:41-47 · 1 Timothy 3:1-13
We believe in baptism by immersion following salvation as a public picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and in the Lord's Supper as a memorial observed by the local church.
Matthew 3:16 · 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
We believe the Christian is called to be separate from the world and from religious apostasy, while loving the lost and going after them. Standards are the fruit of conviction, not the ground of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 · Romans 12:1-2
We believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman for life, that the home is God's first institution, and that the church exists to strengthen families rather than replace them.
Genesis 2:24 · Ephesians 5:22-33
We believe every soul answers directly to God, that the gospel is to be carried to every creature, and that a New Testament church supports missionaries at home and abroad by faith.
Mark 16:15 · Romans 14:12
We believe every human life, from conception onward, bears the image of God and is worthy of protection and compassion.
Psalm 139:13-16 · Jeremiah 1:5
We believe Christ will return for His church before the tribulation, and will reign on earth for a thousand years. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost — the lost to eternal, conscious punishment, and the saved to everlasting joy.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 · Revelation 20:11-15
